Don’t know where to start? With a little creative effort, you will be able to find many opportunities to serve our Savior by serving others. The benefits are beyond words…  Take a look:

  1. Join a worship team, preferably at your own church.  If they do not have an opening, ask if you can be put on the alternate rotation. Also seek out other churches through Indeed. Type in your city and state, and specify “worship” and “church” in your keyword search. They frequently advertise for church musicians or worship leaders. Most churches compensate their musicians.
  2. Volunteer to play music or lead a worship service at a shelter or rescue mission. Also consider the Veteran’s Administration, children’s faciities, and prisons. Our songwriters serve at Union Gospel Mission in Seattle, plus other Christ-centered organizations throughout the state.  Many of our members serve the above mentioned facilities on their own. Watch our Opportunities page for these and other great ways to serve the community and share the Good News!
  3. Volunteer to teach a songwriting class at a local Christian school.  This is a great opportunity!  You have a unique skill that many young people would like to know about.  Also, consider teaching a short one-day workshop on guitar or keyboard. See more about teaching music here.
  4. Consider volunteering at a retirement home or assisted living  facility during Christmas time, or Easter.  If you want an audience that is truly grateful, try this.  They love the old-time Christmas carols.  Note:  start your process early, as most retirement homes and assisted living facilities schedule their Christmas entertainment months in advance!
  5. Teach music privately. see more here
  6. Perform an original worship song in one of our concerts. We have three concert opportunities per year, starting with our Friends and Family concert in April, a summer concert, and  our Album Release Night in late October.  These events are free to our members. Watch the Event Calendar for the next concert. You may  register for our meetings and concert schedule, online here.
